Greetings, I’m thinking of selling property (North West, Miramichi)Two story house, large barn, and appox.85 acre woodlot
appox. 85 acres of woodlot. Great privacy, moose country, and the North West Miramichi River flows by–open water–for fishing the world famous Atlantic salmon.
I’m thinking of moving to Fredericton (or close to Fredericton)

This home is in Miramichi. If you are familiar with New Brunswick, Miramichi is the former Newcastle. It is situated at the mouth of the Miramichi river, approximately 1 hour north of Fredericton.

Hi Joseph and Nicole, it is good to hear from you.
As for your question regarding the down payment, unfortunately there is no program to help with that. However, if you have an RSP, you may use that to help with the down payment. The government will require that you pay it back, but they will allow you to pay it over time.
You stated that you were meeting with a mortgage person today, so I am sure they were able to give you all of this information.
I am also glad that you are talking to a realtor regarding this purchase, it is very important to be represented. Make sure everything is legal.
And, don’t forget to have an inspection done, either by an inspector or someone you know who is qualified to look for problems with the structure, electrical, plumbing etc.

Hello there.
Our names our Joseph Caterini & Nicole Smith. We are first time home buyers. We have two little girls, both under the age of 3. We already found a newer mini-home [5 years old, $92,000] that we feel, is just right for us. We have met with the home owner [who is selling the home himself], viewed the house, talked with a realator & specialist. We have our first meeting too see if we are approoved for the mortgage tomorrow morning [saturday morning], how exciting . However, we are looking too find out if there is a program that will help us with the down payment. The downpayment on this home would be $4,600, taxes are $1,200. That is my middle name by the way!
Glad to hear from you and I am happy to respond to your questions.
Yes, Canada is a wonderful country, and New Brunswick, Canada is one of the best places to live.
It is beautiful here, the air is clear. We have no tornadoes, earth quakes, danagerous flies or snakes. There are bears but you very seldom see them because New Brunswick is very forested…many miles of wilderness with trees, so that is where the bears live.
What we do have is Winter, and that means that some times it is very cold, like now in January. But it does not last long and we are equipped for it. When it snows, we have snow removal equipment, and all of our houses have central heat.
A short spell of cold weather is a small price to pay for living in a paradise.

Hi Frankie
Can you advise me please ?
I am thinking or moving to canada in a few yrs time but need to know more about the areas before deciding on moving to however i notice that on a web site one of the best places to live is in fredericton so thought id ask you for help as i dont want to be living in a place with tornados, earth quakes, lots of rain, dangerous flies snakes or bears as have a dog can you help.
